Do John McCain and Sarah Palin know the difference?
If truth is often the first casualty in politics, as in war, Sen. John McCain’s campaign surely is digging more new plots these days than Arlington National Cemetery.
Each new dawn seems to bring a new torrent of false claims, distortions and outright lies — to say nothing of pretend insult and outrage — in the daily GOP talking points.
Charles Babington, national political reporter for the Associated Press, has done an admirable job of corralling the McCain camp’s runaway Crooked Talk Pony Express in a roundup of recent McCain-Palin falsehoods, while film producer/activist Robert Greenwald has produced a video compilation (below) of McCain lies and distortions — and their associated corrections — that should be required viewing for every American voter prior to Nov. 4.
