The Judgment of Sarah Palin:
A Record of Expediency

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin in her office
This morning’s New York Times offers one of the most telling insights yet into the professional judgment record of Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin.
Sure, we laugh when she claims that the mere fact Russia is Alaska’s neighbor somehow qualifies her as a foreign policy wizard. But wait til you read why she believed a childhood friend was qualified to run the state’s Agriculture department. OK, I give: cows apparently were a bit of a fascination for the appointee when she was a young girl. And the article just gets scarier from there.
It’s difficult to imagine how anyone can read this article in its entirety and still believe that the Alaskan governor is even remotely ready to begin helping to lead the free world, or — God forbid — to actually lead it, should a President McCain become unable to serve his full term.
