Roundup of McCain-Palin Lies (Volume III)

Aren't You Sick of Being Lied To?

If you’re like most of us and have lost track of the endless barrage of untruths, distortions and hypocrisies spewing from the McCain-Palin campaign like crazed hornets on a mission, Newsday on Sunday posted an excellent roundup of recent media attempts to hold the campaign accountable.

Most of the corrections are for sheer lies — pure and simple — any way you look at them.

Now that even the undisputed king of unscrupulous campaigning, Karl Rove, said Sunday that the GOP nominee’s ads indeed have crossed the line, just maybe someone on the McCain team finally will take note after ignoring similar media responses.

My personal favorite: Sam Stein’s commentary in the Huffington Post, which reveals one of the most blatant hypocrisies of this entire election season — one that represents a 180-degree change of heart for McCain:

When does being a governor or mayor for a short period of time not disqualify your credentials on national security? When you are John McCain and your task is to defend your vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

When does being a governor or mayor for a short period of time ABSOLUTELY disqualify your credentials on national security? When you are John McCain and your task is to defeat primary opponents Mitt Romney and Rudy Giuliani.

The October 2007 video clip allows the senator to speak for himself in now disqualifying his own running mate:
